This is the Statement that Texas Tails of Hope Pet Rescue put on their Facebook page.
Letter from the TOH Board of Directors
by Tails of Hope Pet Rescue on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11:09pmTo All of our Supporters: On behalf of the TOH Board, we would like to apologize for the inappropriate comments that were posted on our site and sent to many of our Facebook friends. Tails of Hope has worked hard to build a solid reputation as a rescue that strives to go above and beyond all ethical, legal, and professional standards. We are saddened by the recent attack on our character and reputation. Earlier this year, Ashely Nicole Miller of Killeen was arrested twice for animal abuse (more details: http://www.pet-abuse.com/profiles/18230/) During her time in jail on these charges, she lost legal custody of her 12 cats and 10 dogs to the local Animal Shelter. Several weeks later, one of these dogs was taken in by Tails of Hope. Since that time, Ms. Miller and several of her friends (including Cat Lovesalot) have started a facebook campaign against all the rescues that took in her former dogs. The Rescues have been called "thiefs," "corrupt," and messages were sent to TOH fosters and adopters suggesting that our dogs are stolen. To be clear - ALL of our animals are legally received from area shelters (which are often overflowing.) We have absolutely no need to ever "steal" a dog. We have been more than courteous in responding to Ms. Miller's inquiries. We do not intend to pass judgement on her in her pending abuse case, however, we can not knowingly allow any TOH dog to go to a home where there are questionable circumstances. We have blocked these individuals from our page and have been in contact with our attorney to pursue legal action against Ms. Miller and her friends. If you have received any of these messages or posts - we ask that you please forward a copy to [email protected]. If you have any more questions, please feel free to email us. Thank you for your ongoing support, Tails of Hope Board of Directors |
Texas Tails of Hope stated they have no reason to steal a dog... then why are they selling a dog they know belongs to someone else on petfinder???
This dog belongs to Ashley... and is also her Godson's BEST FRIEND. I wonder how they feel taking away a dog from a 5 year old.
